Tompkins Care Connection is a cooperative project between the Tompkins County Office for the Aging and Long Term Care Services to provide information and referral about the many long term care services available in Tompkins County. 607-274-5222. The Connection provides information on:
- Home Delivered Meals
- Transportation
- Respite Care
- Home Health Care
- Free In-home Assessment
- Counseling and Support
The Tompkins County Office for the Aging lists local home care providers and their hourly rates in its Long Term Support Services brochure. This brochure also describes the different levels of care.
The Women's Opportunity Center (277-7686) offers a registry of individuals willing to serve as in-home caregivers.
Most hospice care is provided in the patient's home. If the illness is potentially life-limiting, if's often helpful to talk with Hospicare and Palliative Care Services of Tompkins County (272-0212) to determine if hospice or palliative care is appropriate.
