The Tompkins County Office for the Aging lists local home care providers and their hourly rates in its Long Term Support Services brochure. This brochure also describes the different levels of care.
The Finger Lakes Independence Center (272-2433) offers a registry of individuals willing to serve as in-home caregivers.
Family & Children's Services (273-7495) provide caregiving counseling and geriatric case management.

Most hospice care is provided in the patient's home. If the illness is potentially life-limiting, if's often helpful to talk with Hospicare and Palliative Care Services of Tompkins County (272-0212) to determine if hospice or palliative care is appropriate.
